Abstract
  • The central focus of this project is the utilization of theories of women's psychological development as a lens to examine women's construction of their sense of self, voice, mind, and authority for preaching. The author used library research, interviewed women preachers, drew on her own experience as preacher and teacher of preachers, and team taught a course on women and preaching. She concludes that teachers of women preachers can be most effective when they take into account the unique ways that women grow and learn. The author proposes an integrative method of teaching preaching in order to best draw out the gifts of women preachers.
