- Abstract
- The thesis of this ministry project was that the experience of feeling forsaken by God is much more common among Christians than generally realized. The issue of God-forsakeness was examined from a biblical and historical perspective. Problems posed by this kind of existential theodicy were examined, as were solutions which have been proposed. A questionnaire discovered that 56 per cent of the congregation admitted to having felt forsaken by God. Through sermons, personal interviews, and a discussion group, the ministry project encouraged struggling believers to work through their feelings of being forsaken by God.
