- Abstract
- This project proposes that intentional discussions among church members following preaching help the congregation move naturally toward a more full engagement with the world, enhancing the church's mission. The project organizes four postsermon dialogue groups at four different congregations, documenting their responses to four sermons with field notes and questionnaires. Missional preaching that recognizes the world's brokenness, sees God as active, emphasizes baptismal identity, and understands Christian freedom to love one's neighbor as a natural part of faith will invoke conversations among the hearers that lead to mission.
