  • The Christian church is clearly called to be in compassionate caring ministry to the world. Laity must be engaged in a five-step process: grieving people receive comfort from scripture and one another; they personally encounter a living faith in Jesus Christ; they obtain guidance in the grieving process through a workbook; they experience emotional healing; and they become involved in helping others to deal with their grief. Participants in this ministry of recovery experienced growth and comfort in sharing their journey with one another, and the church evidenced a healing fellowship of believers.
