Abstrakt

Parish pastors often fail to provide for the continued professional growth they need after seminary graduation. This project sought to assist such growth through developing personal learning plans based on ministry needs in a supportive group context. Ten Fort Wayne Lutheran pastors met monthly for eight months. Beginning with lay and self-evaluation of pastoral functions, each pastor developed a learning plan complete with goals, resources, time table and accountability structure. These pastors further agreed to lead one-day learning plan workshops in Indiana which may anchor a comprehensive continuing education program for the denomination.
