Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to understand what large churches (over 1,000 members) are learning about family ministry. The method of research was a qualitative research. In 2005, six interviews were conducted, each with a staff person responsible for family ministry in a large evangelical church. Implementation of family ministries varied due to the churches makeup and vision. All staff persons mentioned their focus is on preventing family problems rather than solving them through counseling. The staff persons also mentioned they were in the process of developing their family ministry.
