Abstract
  • A contrast is drawn between the parish which is operated by the cleric's hand only, and that which is operated by the cooperation of the cleric and laity. If a parish is to grow, the total membership should be made aware of this need; and the laity should be given a chance to address themselves to this task. In developing the project, much information came from interviews, personal experience and readings and observations in black parishes. This project emphasizes the use of the laity in the parish's operation, without which no parish will find it easy to make much progress today.
