Abstrakt

The writer examines the models of ministry in use within the United States Air Force chaplaincy with consideration of possible changes due to Department of Defense budget cuts. Research focuses on Hans Kung's book The Church, interviews with chaplains, and personal experience. The primary model of ministry in use is 'Body of Christ'; this will remain the same in the future, but will require more lay involvement. Suggestions are made concerning future lay participation.
