Abstract
  • This project involves using the 150-year history of the Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Keller, Texas, to develop the future ministry plan of the church. Due to the rapid population increase in the city of Keller and the growth in membership of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, most people are unaware of the exciting history of the church and its role in the community. After the history of the church has been carefully constructed, a thirteen-session seminar will build a change in attitude toward the history of the church in a control group of five to eight participants. Their knowledge of the history of the church will be evaluated through tests given at the beginning and end of the seminar. The seminar will hopefully serve as the foundation for three new teams. An historical committee must be established to maintain historical records. Another committee will be formed from this control group to organize the sesquicentennial celebration of Mount Gilead Baptist Church in July of 2000. Last, a committee will be formed to assist as a transition team in ministry planning for the twenty-first century.
