  • The Lord's Supper is a celebration of 'communion as community'. The three-fold purpose of this project was to engage participants in: 1) reflection upon biblical, theological and experiential dimensions of the Lord's Supper; 2) The planning of communion liturgy; and 3) experiences of 'communion as community' through celebration of the eucharist. The author led a series of four 'Didactics and Discussion' sessions in which he presented research on communion theology and history that enabled group discussion. Two eucharistic liturgies were planned and enacted. A three-stage evaluation revealed that regular participants had been effected significantly by the project but a majority of the congregation had not.
