Abstract
  • This project proposes to integrate the active lives of contemporary Christians with their deep longing and thirst for God by engaging them in an eight-week spiritual journey. This adult education process grounds the spiritual pilgrimage in historical Lutheran roots--baptism, community, and priesthood of all believers--and enlists participants in the fifth-century practice of Lectio Divina, praying the Scriptures, as a spiritual disciplne. Each meeting begins and ends in silence, with guided meditations that gradually lead the sojourners to pray the Scriptures on their own.
