- Abstract
- Jesus through personal example, steady effort, and Godly knowledge empowered his disciples to be leaders as they learned about God's plan for humanity. They were inspired and enabled to transfer that knowledge and good news to others through personal encounter. The one-to-one method of discipleship can effectively empower others to accomplish the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Making disciples of Jesus Christ is the mandate of every church and every believer. On this model this project seeks to empower church members to mentor others in Christian discipleship. As Hillcrest Baptist Church of Austin, Texas, intentionally strives to become a disciple-making church, the call of the Great Commission can be answered positively.
