Abstract
  • 'Cleanliness is Next to Godliness': A Theological Reflection on the Solid Waste Problem in Ghana is a research paper that sets out to explore how the faith community in Ghana can be better involved in addressing the recent devastating state of solid waste management in the country. To achieve this objective, the thesis will focus itself on the following sections: . What is solid waste? . What is the history of managing solid waste in Ghana? . Why is it important to manage solid waste for matters having to do with the economy and health? . Understanding solid waste management in theological perspective. On solution, the aim of the thesis is to develop a theology of stewardship as a response to the solid waste problem in Ghana. Finally, this paper proposes advocacy for change of attitude toward God's creation, commitment to purposeful solid waste management strategies, and confronting weaker systems that obstruct solid waste management as three practical ways the church in Ghana can help in dealing with the state's solid waste problem.
