Abstract
  • Bella Vista Community Church is an interdenominational church in a predominantly retirement community that had no formal structure for spiritual formation of youth. The praxis director designed and taught a six-week confirmation program based on the Apostles' Creed with a three-fold purpose of confirmation for those baptized as infants, a new believers' class for those baptized as believers, and an opportunity for youth to learn about the Christian faith and make a commitment. Teaching methods included: storytelling, lectures, handouts, questionnaires, journaling, discussion, memorization, creating hand motions, play, art, music, drama, and Scripture reading. Confirmation will be offered annually.
