Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to equip the deacons of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in better assimilating new members. The project director facilitated a four-week seminar with the deacons using small group study, large group discussion, and assignments outside the class to encourage group participation in the completion of the new member program design. The deacons, then, engaged in leading a group of new members through a three-hour new member assimilation course. The deacons developed a greater understanding and awareness of the need for new member assimilation. The new members developed a greater understanding of their faith and the ministries of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
