  • The study examines folk healing among the Ilyamba and Turu people of Tanzania and explores its primitive methods and significance to the life of the people. It considers the feelings of some leaders of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania towards folk healing and presents a view of human wholesomeness and health, sickness, suffering, death and life after death from a biblical point of view. Health and healing is grounded in a doctrine of creation and in a modeling of ministry in Jesus's work as a servant. A statement of relationship between modern medicine and folk healing from a Christian perspective concludes the study.
