Abstract
  • This project proposes that by naming and claiming a spiritual practice of hospitality, a congregation can be transformed and renewed. This project focuses on a small group of eight people in a congregation of one hundred members. The project consists of an eight-week class on hospitality with Bible study, a worship service celebrating hospitality, and data collected from oral, journal and questionnaire feedback. The research discloses that an already existing avenue for practicing hospitality when reframed as a spiritual practice changed people's attitude and behavior toward others, and drew them closer to God. Such a spiritual practice can bring meaning and purpose to people living in a busy world.
