Abstract
  • This project insists on the primacy of the teaching role of the pastor in congregational life, exploring and testing it in a teaching exercise that designs a curriculum, gathers a catechumenate of adults, and teaches the tradition using an experiential mode of Christian religious education. Uniquely positioned at the intersection of theological education and parish life, a pastor is primary teacher of Christian faith by virtue of centuries of historical tradition, grounding in biblical knowledge and theological education, and responsibility to ecclesiastical authority.
