Abstract
  • This project reviewed twelve case studies of inmates who came for pastoral counseling at Southampton Correctional Center. Using the DSM-III-R, this review identified the two most frequent diagnoses: dysthymic and antisocial personality disorders. Based on the information gained on the personality makeup and needs of the inmates, a manual was developed for pastoral counseling in prisons that could be used by both clergy and laypersons.
