Abstract
  • This project proposes to begin equipping church members to discover and use their spiritual gifts in ministry. The method involved a sermon series on spiritual gifts, a course on spiritual gift identification, individual consultations with the pastor, and placement in ministry opportunities. The project resulted in more members serving in ministry. A lay ministry of Congregational Care was implemented. The Nominating Committee adopted an improved method of matching members with ministry opportunities. Twenty people went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. An understanding of spiritual gifts and the opportunity to serve in ministry led to increased involvement in ministry.
