Abstract

This project examines a twelve week small group equipping process with the small group coaches and leaders from the Family Ministries Department of Mariners' Church, Irvine, California. Included in this project is a history of Mariners Church, a discussion of current ministry trends and philosophical values at Mariners, a review of the biblical, theological and theoretical basis of small group ministry and an examination of the results of the training process as determined by the participants through an evaluative assessment tool. Two appendices display materials from the twelve-week training program as well as other equipping resources from Mariners' small groups ministry department.
