Abstract
  • Each congregation has a story that is the result of the many events that shape the local church. Some stories reveal a problem of nonforgiveness among the people. Theological research reveals that though our memories will not release our hurts, there must be some sharing of God's grace and forgiveness between the members of the church. When a minister discovers a problem like nonforgiveness, there must be some constructive way to address the problem without inflaming past wounds. The thesis proposes that an indirect way to address the problem is by the use of parables in the hermeneutical process as the subject of nonforgiveness is addressed in a series of sermons.
