  • This project purports to revitalize the spirituality of the African American church for purposes of reclaiming the church's voice of leadership in the struggle for justice and social change. A program will be presented to assist African American church members in deepening their spirituality through the practice of spiritual disciples and its connection with social justice issues. The implementation of the program resulted in church members increasing their practice of spiritual disciplines and the church committing itself to active involvement with an ecumenical faith-based organization that raises the quality of life for persons living on life's margins.
