- Abstract
- Protestant chaplains entering to minister to the U S Navy come from a denominational affiliation and background. Their experience of ministry, to include preaching, has also been within their denominational context. Ministry in the Navy chapel is inherently diverse. This is clearly evident from the make-up of the Protestant chapel congregation. The thesis of this project is that the employment of rhetorical tools, elements of language used for the purpose of clear communication, will greatly enhance the new chaplain's preaching to their denominationally-diverse congregation in the Navy chapel.
