Abstract
  • Religious beliefs represent and express significant intrapsychic and developmental dynamics which may be utilized directly in psychotherapy and pastoral counseling. The primary approach to the material is the case-study method based upon the practical guidelines and theoretical assumptions of the pastoral diagnostic orientation and the structural-developmental understanding of personality formation. The major result is an affirmation of the initial thesis: religious beliefs may be effectively interpreted and applied to the practice of psychotherapy with significant diagnostic and therapeutic benefit.
