Abstrato

The purpose of this project was to research post-termination pastoral care and produce a workbook to guide terminated or forced-to-resign pastors seeking to re-enter fruitful ministry. The workbook was commissioned by the Tishomingo Baptist Association, in cooperation with the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and the Southern Baptist Convention. It was made available to pastors in the Tishomingo Association and is available to any pastor seeking recovery assistance. I researched the resources then available for wounded ministers. I enhanced my knowledge of terminated or forced-to-resign ministers and my skills in producing effective lesson plans for ministers seeking to recover from ministry-related wounds and re-enter fruitful ministry. I began by researching the forced resignations of pastors and the field of post-termination pastoral care. I produced an annotated bibliography and a report describing best practices for restoring terminated pastors. I completed a course in curriculum design and produced a workbook outlining biblically based steps of recovery for forced-to resign or terminated ministers.
