Abstracto

This qualitative research attempts to answer the question: How does the church leaders' relationship with God the Holy Spirit influence their churches' numerical growth? A case study was made of ten New Zealand Open Brethren churches that were experiencing healthy numerical growth. In light of the recent historical guarded attitude towards the Holy Spirit, the research revealed that a major factor that has influenced the churches' numerical growth was the healthy respect and anticipation the leaders had towards person, gifts, ministries, and leading of the Holy Spirit, and willingness to fellowship with believers who hold differing pneumatological positions.
