Abstract
  • The matter of ancestral sacrifice has been a serious issue in Korean Christian churches. This project focuses on selected church members and the role of the memorial service as the substitute for the ancestral sacrifice. The history and form of ancestral sacrifice is explored and prayerful remembrance is studied in regard to the memorial service. The method of participatory action research is used to evaluate the possible use of the prayerful remembrance in place of the ancestral sacrifice without forfeiting filial piety, which results in the order of memorial service.
