Abstract
  • The church of Jesus Christ is called to be a care giving community. The ministry of pastoral care is firmly rooted in the life and works of Christ himself and the spiritual and organic nature of the church. This project shows that it is essential for the pastor to equip and involve the lay people in the caring ministry. The ministry of pastoral care is in reality a shared ministry. The project develops a model of the ministry of care giving which is used successfully in a local church. The model broadens the congregational base for pastoral care functions and increases the effectiveness of pastoral care ministry. It brings renewal and revitalization to the local congregation.
