Abstract
  • The purpose of this practicum is to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary for the author to utilize Aaron Beck's Cognitive Therapy model in ministry to married persons, and to draw upon this model as the basis for two weekend seminars with couples seeking to enhance their marital communication. The thesis of the practicum is that the Cognitive model is an effective therapy orientation for utilization in ministry to couples. The seminars were conducted with a total of fourteen couples participating. Critical evaluation by participants and the practicum committee supported the thesis and was used to perfect the second seminar.
