Abstract
  • This project contends that a significant number of clergy are at risk of co-dependency, a subtle disorder that hinders effective personal growth and professional service. By means of a survey among 1,800 clergy in Minnesota, it was found that many clergy came into ministry from an extreme family system. The psychological, spiritual and practical liabilities of co-dependent characteristics are identified and a therapuetic response is proposed.
