- The purpose of this project was to design an adult ministries model for Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, that would assimilate and provide pastoral care for its members. This project proposes an assimilation plan based on adult Sunday school classes reorganized into life stage communities. These communities will provide a network of care and ministry. Eleven classes were involved. Two of the classes were chosen to pilot the plan. Of the remaining nine classes, six embraced the plan in a limited manner and three resisted change. The pilot classes have shown tremendous growth while ministering effectively to its members.
