Abstract
  • This project consists of three teaching sessions on the biblical concept of stewardship. It is grounded in a theology of stewardship and is tested with two new member classes at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. These 'Guidelines for Christian Stewards' also are used with an adult membership class in a nearby Lutheran parish and with a group of new Christians in a Roman Catholic Church. Evaluation reveals that the guidelines raise the stewardship awareness level of both new and long time members of the church and challenge participants toward a broader understanding of and deeper commitment to what it means to be God's steward in all of life.
