Abstrato

This project seeks to address the lack of lay participation in hospital and bereavement visitation due to the discomfort of the task as well as a general lack of training. A number of personal interviews were conducted with people in the church who had been hospitalized or bereaved in the last year. Each was asked how many church people other than pastoral staff or their own family visited them during their difficult time. A Sunday school class was then offered to train laypeople in such visitation skills, accounting for a variety of situations. A Caregivers Team was subsequently established.
