Abstract
  • This qualitative study attempts to understand the pastor's perspective regarding prayer as a part of his/her work. A biblical survey demonstrates that prayer is an important part of the pastor's work. Interviews with practicing clergy show they wrestle with feelings of guilt about their prayer lives, they struggle to balance their role as persons of prayer with the pressures of everyday ministry, and they express a desire to be held accountable for being persons of prayer.
