  • This study is an examination of the significance of parental control on decisions for Christ in non-Christian Chinese families in Taiwan. Information was gathered as interviews in a multiple case study. Twenty cases were examined and each case included a new believer, the believer's non-Christian parents and the believer's pastor. The study showed that control was significant, but the way it affected decisions depended largely on the degree to which the parents were opposed to Christianity. The surprise was that there was not any correlation between the parents' opposition and their involvement in Chinese traditional religion.
