- This project proposes a design to prepare the church members to be tentmakers in China. Using a four-level strategic plan which includes the sharing, recruiting, and training of church members by the formal and practical methods, the author presents the biblical, theological, historical, socio-cultural, religious and political backgrounds with special discussion on ancestor worship and the Three-Self church in addition to personal field experiences with both long- and short-term tentmakers. The method used includes observation-participation with formal and informal interviews. The role and strategy of the local church in preparing and selecting candidates for this challenging ministry is also discussed.
