Abstract
  • The project conducted a preliminary evaluation of a spiritual life review for hospice patients. The research focused on how ten patients responded to the process of a chaplain obtaining a spiritual life review, and then compared their physical, cognitive, and affective responses to twenty patients in two control groups. All thirty patients' responses were measured at the beginning and the conclusion of the study. This data, along with their personal, recorded testimonies, suggests that this process had a salutary effect on the ten patients, as their affective responses measured higher than those in the two control groups.
