Abstract
  • This thesis utilized a case study method to examine the impact of trust upon church leaders and congregants in four churches in Tracy, California. The research included surveys and interviews of people in these churches. The findings revealed the behaviors that build trust in these churches are: character, consistency, caring, communication and competency. The results also indicated that behaviors that decrease trust in these churches are: breaking promises, pride, lack of respect, lack of communication and incompetency. The research also indicated that a person's family of origin and previous church experience have an impact on one's trust of church leaders.
