The author contends that, 'guidelines for future curriculum design for the basic (pre-ordination) training of Wesleyan pastors can be developed through study of the views of church leaders and pastors as to role expectancy, future changes, and educational needs, especially as such study is compared to the projections of other church bodies.' he surveyed Wesleyan pastors, district superintendents, and denominational executives and educators, and researched the projections of futurists and the plans of other denominations.
