  • This project explores how a collaborative model of sermon preparation and feedback connects the pulpit to the issues of young adults at First Presbyterian Church. Six participants (18-35 years old) had lunch six times with the preacher. They gave sermon feedback, discussed the upcoming lectionary texts, and participated in an exit interview. The results show that sermon collaboration offered a ministry of hospitality to young adults, addressing five main characteristics of Generation X: its relational nature, knowledge of suffering, emphasis on experience, demand for humility and honesty from the church, and desire to make a difference.
