Abstract
  • This project created and implemented a health assessment model for the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tennessee. It was designed to help congregations and their communities determine their unique ministry callings. Discovery process methods included Bible study, interviews, individual and group assessments, observer-monitor sheets and a list of possible health ministry ideas. The four tested congregations exhibited greater interest in faith and health. These congregations determined the most prevalent congregational diseases, stressors, and some previously unknown health issues. Each congregation's health ministry calling needs, desires, and gifts were discovered.
