- Abstract
- The problem addressed by this study is the grief reaction some married women experience in moving from one residence to another. No attempt is made to prove that there is a grief reaction to moving, nor to determine the extent to which such a reaction occurs in the mobility of society. Through an analysis of data drawn from interviews with a particular sample of married women who have moved, the quality and nature of the grief reaction is described. This description is formed by viewing the data collected through an understanding of the dynamics of grief presented in the first chapter. Assumptions that this study is significant for and has a potential contribution to make to the practice of ministry are as follows: (1) Recognition of the needs of persons is important to those who are involved in ministry…(2) Through the centuries the church has been considered a place of refuge and a repository of meaning. There is a traditional expectation that the pastor and the church have resources that are helpful to the bereaved and those who have suffered loss…(3) The mobility of persons confronts the Christian Church with an awesome challenge of relating to people who are moving from one community to another…
