- Abstract
- This Doctor of Ministry project report addresses the need for follow-up ministries for nonmembers who are served by Southwick Congregational Church in connection with baptisms, weddings, and funerals. In response to this perceived need, three lay ministry teams were commissioned, and ongoing programs of support, education and nurture were developed. The programs, the process by which they were developed, the setting that inspired them, and the theological foundations they were built on, including theologies of community, ministry of the laity, Christian baptism, marriage and funeral, are included. Change elicited by the project, not numerical growth, is the measure for success.
