Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to develop a Middle School Ministry Volunteer Guide for Fruit Cove Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. I accomplished this in three goals. The first goal was to research the developmental and spiritual needs of middle school students to develop a profile. The second goal was to develop a summary report for best practices in middle school ministry. The third goal was to develop a guide for middle school ministry at Fruit Cove Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The first goal required developing an annotated bibliography from the field of adolescent development. The second goal involved surveying pastors from Southern Baptist churches with middle school ministries. The ministry guide is a combination of the first goal, the second goal, and existing church values for the purpose of training volunteers to be effective leaders of middle school students.
