Abstract
  • This project presents a method of training lay people in a local church to disciple others intentionally. In a two-phase process, the project director equipped a small group of church members, who then discipled another individual. Theologically, the basis of the project stems from Jesus' training of His disciples, with additional references to Paul's training of disciples like Timothy. The project director worked to develop a disciple-making team in a local church historically weak in informed, intentional disciple making. As a result of the project, the participants formed a team to plan and implement a discipleship strategy for the church. Individual members of the team have since continued discipling others one-on-one and in groups.
