Abstract
  • This project paper was written to expose some truths about the criminal justice system; to share the benefits of establishing 501(c)(3) ministries as a resource to individuals re-entering society; and to network with others to eradicate the high recidivism rates in the United States of America. The leadership, guidance, and participation of people of color are needed to develop ministries to assist ex-offenders and their families in order to restore wholesomeness to our communities. The author utilized the pastoral ethnographic study as the method of research. The conclusions reached from this study reflect the astronomical injustices executed specifically in the African American communities. There is an urgent need for faith-based communities to become educated and involved in the freedom of our people and the restoration of our communities and families.
