Abstract
  • The First Baptist Church of City Point, Hopewell, Virginia was the context for this ministry project. The hypothesis was that associate ministers lacked mentoring and training in the area of ministry. To accomplish this goal, five instructional classes were taught on mentoring and training for associate ministers. Pre- and post-test results of the instructional classes showed that the associate ministers were untrained and improperly mentored. As a result, a manual was developed to assist the pastor in the training of associate ministers in the areas of personal mentoring, personal growth and professional development.
