Abstract
  • The purpose of this study is to understand Luke's thinking regarding stewardship of possessions in preparation for Sunday School curriculum. The author investigates the unique Lukan parables and uses these as the primary source of information concerning how Luke thinks. The study produces four statements: 1. material possessions in the life of the believer is a crucial issue; 2. the primary motivation for wise stewardship is that of personal piety; 3. the basic danger of abundance is the way that it binds, entangles, and sedates the possessor; and 4. proper channeling of possessions, rather than abandonment of such, is Luke's concern.
