Abstract
  • This project demonstrates the usefulness of insights from liberation theology, Christian shared praxis, and family systems theory to develop a workshop: 1) to help participants think more in terms of systems; 2) to develop creative views of conflict; 3) to provide skills for dealing with conflict and effecting change. Shared praxis was the approach used for the practicum. The recommendations are that : 1) persons trained in systems theory be on the staff of denominations and available to help work through conflict in congregations; and 2) denominations provide clergy and other church leaders with training in systems theory.
